Most assignments will be done in the format of a playing assessment. These will all be done on the Essential Elements Interactive website. You can access the website by click on the image to the left, and then on the "Student" image to sign in.
If you need your password reset:
  • Find Mr. A before or after school, and ask for a Password Reset
  • Email Mr. A asking for a Password Reset
Either way, it can take up to a full day, please be patient and PLAN AHEAD.

Practice Logs

You can download a Practice Log here.
Practice logs must be submitted during your FULL BAND day (Day C), and must be 90-120 minutes of practicing. Finding your instrument at home and assembling it does NOT count towards your practice time!

What is S.T.A.R.S.?

STARS is an acronym we use in class to help students with Sightreading new music:

S - Sharps or Flats [how many sharps/flats in the key signature]
T - Time Signature/Tempo [How fast or slow we play this piece, and tempo markings throughout the piece]
A - Accidentals [sharps or flats not found in the key signature]
R - Rhythms [What are the tricky rhythms? Quarter notes, mostly half notes, a lot of eighth notes?]
S - Symbols [Are there any dynamics, articulations, repeats, and/or special endings]
